Kimberly Heberlein is a NYS certified Middle/High School Mathematics teacher with over 7 years teaching experience. She has taught grades 5-12 in person and virtually. Kimberly is currently employed at Erie 1 BOCES eAcademy, a 100% virtual Middle-High School, and has been since its launch in September of 2020.

With over 20 years of experience in computer science and special education, I'm a Teacher on Assignment (TOA) skilled in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. I've developed and maintain a district-wide software platform for educators, including the Virtual Academy Data Dashboards for the Rochester City School District. As part of a three-person teacher-leader team, I advise schools on virtual learning strategies and manage student rosters and credits within our Learning Management System (LMS), following NYSED guidelines.

For the first 20 years of my career, I taught 8th grade earth science. During that time, I was honored as the Teacher of the Year in my district in 2013. I am National Board certified, a NYS Master Teacher and was named a Honeywell Space Camp Educator in 2016. Passionate about broadening my impact, I transitioned into the role of IB MYP Coordinator five years ago, working to positively influence students and teachers across the district and to be a change leader. I actively engage in numerous professional development trainings and was recently certified as an IB workshop leader.

Education degree from St. John Fisher University in Special Education, General Education, and History. Currently 8 years of teaching experience. 6 years consecutively at my current position at Rochester Prep High School teaching high school history courses. 2 years in 9th grade Ancient History, 2 years in 10th grade Global History, and 2 years teaching 11th grade US History and AP US History.

Jen has dedicated her career to teaching students in 4th and 5th grades. Her main focus has always been on establishing meaningful relationships with students, which in turn has allowed her to provide personalized and intentional instruction. During the 2020-21 school year, she taught a class that was fully remote. By remaining student-focused, she was able to integrate good teaching practices with online platforms. Her students excelled both socially and academically. As a lifelong learner, she will continue growing as an educator in order to provide more opportunities for all students.

As a Middle School Counselor with over 6 years of experience in public school settings across Western New York, I am dedicated to providing my students, staff and families with multiple avenues of support on various platforms. Currently, as a 7th grade school counselor at Batavia Middle School, I support students through academic and social-emotional interventions, behavior planning for success, and building stronger relationships within their school communities. Additionally, as the District Wide Counseling Department Chair for Batavia, I am working to create cohesion between multiple buildings and solidify policies and procedures to better serve our students and families.

Lindsay, a teacher in Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD, currently serves as the library media specialist at the Cooperative Virtual Learning Academy. With a passion for technology in education since 2004, she holds degrees in health education, curriculum design & instructional technology, and library media. Lindsay is a building technology coordinator, a member of the district's Professional Learning Committee, and a mentor to new teachers. Lindsay authors and contributes to health education texts and provides professional learning for preservice and current educators of all subject areas. Lindsay is also an expert mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project, focusing on self-paced, mastery-based, and blended instruction.

The month before the COVID shutdown, I earned my M.A.T. in Adolescent Chemistry Education from Binghamton University. I began my career during the pandemic in Buffalo Public Schools, and have since moved on to the OCMBOCES Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). At the VLA, I have taught a wide-range of courses including Middle School Science, Chemistry, Forensic Science, and Health, and have led collaboration, professional development, and data-driven analysis among my colleagues. I thoroughly enjoy working virtually with students who cannot be in a school building for social-emotional or physical reasons.

My greatest asset as an educator is meeting my students at their unique and appropriate learning levels. I do this by developing a personal understanding of the student and then setting a realistic goal that will motivate toward student attainment. By observing and assessing students as unique learners, I can tailor a lesson to accommodate multiple intelligences. In addition, I offer one-on-one and remote support to ensure that all students are able to comprehend the learning materials and develop their personal skills. My objective is to increase student enthusiasm, responsiveness, and understanding of the arts.

My career as a high school English teacher spans over a decade, during which I've served as a newspaper, yearbook, and senior advisor across diverse areas of NY. I am committed to creating an educational experience that is not only engaging and encourages critical thinking, but also fosters creativity, with the goal of preparing students for success in the digital age. My teaching style combines project and game-based learning with digital literacy, focusing on real-life applications in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
