Heather Naughton student taught in Scotland as part of IU's Global Gateways for Educators program and then taught in MacAllen, Texas. After returning to LI, she worked in Levittown schools and is now at Wantagh High School. Over more than two decades in the classroom, she has taught theatre, English, and AP Capstone. She currently serves as Co-Director of the Wantagh-Seaford Teacher Center. Degrees: Theatre Education (Indiana University); English Education (St. John's University); Literacy Acquisition (Dowling College). Awards: 2004: Fulbright Memorial Award - Japan. 2011 - NYSEC English Educator of Excellence. 2016 - Nominated for a Tony Award: Excellence in Theatre Education. 2024 - Distinguished Teacher; Harvard Club of LI.

Taught special education for 20 years in North Carolina, then ran a school Innovation Lab for 13 years in Vermont, Currently work with Distance Learning and our dual credit online high school courses at SLLBOCES, along with serving a school district as a coach and providing Professional Learning opportunities. This is my 38th year in education.
